Patient Certified Math/Spanish Tutor and ELL Support

Hi there! My name is Marika, and I am originally from Italy. Over the past 10 years, I have had the opportunity to teach and tutor students of different ages and learning styles. I am a certified educator with state certification in Mathematics for grades 5 to 9 and in Spanish for grades K to 12. I genuinely enjoy helping students feel more confident, especially when math feels overwhelming at first. My goal is to help you feel supported, break things down in a way that makes sense, and show you that you can do it. I also believe learning should be enjoyable, so I keep sessions positive, encouraging, and low-stress while still making real progress.

I have worked with students from elementary to college level in topics such as foundational skills, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and introductory college math. In our sessions, I focus on helping you understand the why, not just memorize steps. We will use strategies like guided practice, worked examples, and reviewing mistakes together, because that is often where the best learning happens. I can also support you with homework, review assignments, and help you feel prepared for quizzes and tests.

I am also fluent in Italian and Spanish, and I have experience teaching English to non-English speakers. I taught ELL English for 3 years, and now I use that experience to support multilingual students in math, especially with vocabulary and word problems. In addition to math. I can teach Spanish and help students improve their vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, and speaking. I will make sure you feel comfortable and supported. Most of all, I care about building a strong relationship with my students, because when you feel safe asking questions and being yourself, learning gets a lot easier.
