I started teaching in my local church as a Sunday School teacher and this passion led me to major in Education in college. I graduated with a dual Bachelor of Science in Education degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Development.
My teaching career started out as a substitute teacher, then into the private sector as a Catholic School teacher, but fatefully ended up in preschool. 18 of my 20 years of teaching has been in a preschool setting, and it has all been with lower income students.
I ended up as a Head Start teacher which is how I ended up becoming a trainer of adults. I participated in multiple Head Start and NAEYC trainings. I became a Train-the-Trainer through the Florida Department of Education's Office of Early Learning and now have 4 different trainings under my belt.
I have a certification from the FLDOE to teach Phonological Awareness, which is the building block of Reading.
I have two Bachelor of Science Degrees in Education and a Masters of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education.
