A Tutor With Understanding

After moving to a new town, our daughter was far behind in math due to a difference is school curriculums. After finding Betty I am happy to report that our daughter is on the right track now and continuing to catch up and understand math. One great thing about Betty is that she quickly caught on to the way our daughter learns. As a visual learner she needed specific tools and methods to help her understand and visualize the math. Betty has been providing her with the tools she needs to become more confident with her math work and it shows already in her first report card! Betty is also easy to talk to, punctual and pleasant. We highly recommend her.

Betty Gave my Son Confidence

Betty worked with my son to prepare for the writing and verbal sections of the SAT. She was methodical, patient and direct with feedback. Over the course of a few months, she reviewed all the different types of questions that he could expect, helped him with practice tests and gave guidance on test taking strategies. She was particularly helpful in helping him to prepare for the essay section of the test. Betty has give my son a lot of confidence headed into "the most important exam of his life." (His words...not mine!)

This tutor has excellent skills for all subjects although she states she specializes in a few. My son got all "A"s and "B"s as a result of working with her. This tutor will go above and beyond to meet with your child whenever there is a need.

Betty is a great person and tutor. She understands what you want out the session. She works fast to make sure she goes over the material that we need to do, but not fast enough that you don't understand a thing. She find things online for you and keeps in contact with you during the week to found out your progress. I have gained a lot of knowledge since I started tutoring with Betty and I feel that the classes are paying off. You build a relationship based on respect and empathy and she truly cares that you are happy of the result of the class. Money well spend. I would recommend her for anyone that is looking for a tutor for English, composition, and testing preparation.

Excellent tutor!

We hired Betty a while back because our daughter, who is in seventh grade, was not doing well in Spanish. My knowledge of Spanish was limited to what I picked up years ago while working in restaurants and my wife knows less than that. We decided to look into a tutor after our daughter had gotten a bad grade on a test. While doing a search on line I came across Wyzant and through that, Betty and we are glad we did. She has been very accommodating when scheduling sessions. She is patient and calm. My daughter has said that Betty explains what they are going over in a more understandable way than her teacher in school. This last marking period our daughter received a B in Spanish! Over all we highly recommend Betty as a tutor.

Betty is a great tutor

I have been working with Betty as my writing tutor for the last month and half. I had to take a very important writing evaluation at my university and thanks to her, my test went very well and I was granted admission into the Masters in Teaching Program. I really appreciate all the help Betty has provided me in teaching me the writing process. Betty was flexible and adapted her schedule whenever possible, so she was able to help me when I needed her help with my writing assignments. She is a great tutor and I really recommend her services.
