About Julian

Bio

As a tutor, my focus is on helping students understand statistics concepts rather than just memorizing formulas or copying solutions. I emphasize clear explanations, step-by-step reasoning, and active problem solving so students gain confidence and independence. Whether a student is preparing for a statistics course or using statistics alongside programming or engineering coursework, my aim is to make the material as clear and accessible as possible.

I hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri, where my academic and research work required extensive problem solving, programming, and quantitative analysis. Throughout my graduate studies, I regularly used Python and R for statistical analysis, data interpretation, and design-of-experiments work, and I also completed coursework in algorithm design and programming. My background is strongly rooted in applying math, programming, and statistics to real technical problems, which allows me to explain concepts clearly and logically.

In addition, I have formal teaching experience as a graduate teaching assistant, where I worked directly with undergraduate students in engineering courses, including feedback and control systems. In that role, I led help sessions, assisted students with homework and exam preparation, and explained both theory and practical applications. I was also a teaching assistant in intermediate electromagnetics, where I wrote lab assignments for students.

Approved Subjects

Calculus

Calculus

I have a PhD in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics and a strong foundation in calculus, applied mathematics, and analytical problem solving. My work has required extensive use of calculus concepts including derivatives, integrals, and differential equations in engineering applications. I have experience helping students understand and apply these concepts in academic settings. I focus on building a clear understanding of the material so students can solve problems accurately and confidently.
Electrical Engineering

Electrical Engineering

I have a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri with a strong background in circuit theory, signals and systems, control systems, and electromagnetics. I have experience teaching and supporting students in areas such as transmission systems and feedback control. My research involved designing pulsed power system experiments and analyzing experimental data using Python, MATLAB, and R. I have also worked as a circuit design engineer, giving me practical industry experience applying these concepts.
Python

Python

I have a PhD in Electrical Engineering and have experience in Python programming, data analysis, and technical problem solving. I have worked on a range of projects involving scripting, data processing, as well as debugging and improving existing code. I also have experience using libraries such as NumPy and pandas and applying Python to real-world problems. I focus on helping students understand how code works so they can write, debug, and improve their programs with confidence.
Statistics

Statistics

I have a PhD in Electrical Engineering and a strong background in statistics, probability, and data analysis. My work has involved applying statistical methods to real datasets, including hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, and regression analysis. I have experience using tools such as Python and R to perform analysis and interpret results. I focus on helping students understand statistical concepts so they can apply them correctly in homework, exams, and real-world problems.
