I am a professional who has spent a lifetime working in the entertainment and broadcast industry. I have had experience ranging from being a Top 40 Radio Disc Jockey, a trumpet player in dance bands, a studio owner and the Music Supervisor on major network television shows. I am a professional who has spent a lifetime working in the entertainment and broadcast industry. I have had experience ranging from being a Top 40 Radio Disc Jockey, a trumpet player in dance bands, a studio owner and the Music Supervisor on major network television shows. This experience paralleled my other interests as a music performer, music composer/arranger, and a producer of advertising jingles.

I noticed that quite a few people would call my studio or reach out to me in other ways to ask how they might learn how to become a part of the music production world, and that led me to ask a community college if I could start a class to respond to some of these requests.

I submitted a syllabus, it was accepted, and I found myself lecturing to rooms full of people eager to learn about recording, editing, and producing music. I also discovered it was great fun and personally rewarding sharing my knowledge with others.

In a field where complex technology and emotional outpouring lives side by side the blend and utilization of these seemingly divergent arts can be difficult to master without guidance. The "how-to" manuals on a Digital Audio Workstation can be over a thousand pages long; some help in mastering the correct discipline can be a great asset. There are also tips and tricks in the way professionals achieve their produced sounds - I try to share the ones that I know.

As I have stated, I find working with my students both satisfying and fun, and being part of the process of seeing them achieve their goals continues, hopefully, to be rewarding to both of us.
