My Background
I hold a Master of Science degree in Chemistry from Western Carolina University, where I was a dedicated graduate-level tutor, logging over 500 hours with more than 200 students in just over a year. I have extensive experience with first-time learners, those retaking courses, non-traditional students, and students with ADHD. After earning my degree, I taught General and Organic Chemistry at Chamberlain College of Nursing and worked as a chemist at The Coca-Cola Company's Florida Juice Quality Center before pursuing tutoring full time.

My Purpose
I aim to empower students to develop reliable strategies for solving even the most complex problems. I know tutoring can feel intimidating, so I create a friendly, relaxed learning environment where you can ask questions freely and build confidence in your abilities. The best tutor ever!

Before finding Kristin, I felt completely lost in General Chemistry 2. But then I found Kristin, and she completely changed my life. I ended up with a C+ in General Chemistry 2, improving from my C in General Chemistry 1. Her passion for chemistry was so contagious that I knew she had to be my tutor for Organic Chemistry. With Kristin's support, I went on to Organic Chemistry to earn a B+ in the first semester and an A in the second semester! If you've ever had crippling perfectionist anxiety about even prepping for a tutoring session, you can breathe here. If you haven't had it all together--crushed that you haven't caught up material you wished you could've but losing against the tide, Tutor Kristin C was quick to respond. By the following day we started. Without them, I wouldn't been able to understand topics I was behind on, and was even introduced to new and future topics in the most friendly way that was relevant. Monday I was in pieces, Tutor Kristin C was there Tues, Wed, and Thurs--in 3 days I was confidently understanding lecture & understood concepts well enough I could explain to peers in study group(always wanted to, but always been too slow to contribute) Having Tutor Kristin C's dedicated support consistently with 2 hr option sessions has been essential for understanding bigger problems that require lots of context that maybe limited, quicker sessions at other venues.
