I recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in Creative Writing from Stetson University, where I developed strong analytical, reading, and writing skills through coursework. My studies emphasized close reading, critical thinking, and clear communication. As part of my academic career, I often peer-reviewed classmates’ essays and creative pieces, offering feedback that focused on both mechanics and deeper meaning. These experiences deepened my understanding of how to support a range of writing abilities, from early learners to more advanced students.
Outside of the classroom, I’ve worked with children and teens in both one-on-one and small group settings. My background includes babysitting school-age children, during which I often helped with reading and homework support. I aim to make sessions engaging by incorporating students’ interests and encouraging curiosity. My approach is patient, individualized, and encouraging. I believe in meeting students where they are, boosting their confidence while helping them build foundational skills that lead to long-term success in English.
