I have enjoyed both teaching and tutoring. I enjoy the accomplishments of knowing the students are learning and understanding the skills and techniques for succeeding in school and out of school. If the basic skills are mastered we can enhance and improve with the use of new strategies and techniques. When students have progressed I am given a sense of success. All students can learn, we have to boost their confidence, show understanding and have compassion.
I have a General Studies-ECE degree from Valdosta State University. I am an outstanding K-6 teacher/ tutor because I truly believe all students can learn. Listening and paying close attention to your students can help with understanding struggles, cultures, and definitely student strengths. With the collaboration of learning skills, content, and structure a student can be setup for success in school.
An outstanding English tutor/teacher must possess the ability to decider words and comprehend reading. One of my favorite subjects in school was reading and literature. When I teach reading I try to engage the students by saying “reading a story is like making a movie.” Relating content to things the student enjoys helps the process of reading fluently and the ability to reproduce ideas in writing. Grammar can tend to be difficult for some, so I like to play games, making things a little less intense and creating fun while learning.
Well as an outstanding study skills tutor/teacher is because I use the test taking strategies. I teach skills that can be carried out though all levels of education. I use the strategies now when I am taking tests. I provide lifelong skills and methods.
