I am a native Spanish speaker originally from Panama. I have lived in the U.S. for over 25 years. I work as a Spanish language interpreter during the day. I have worked as an interpreter for approximately 15 years. The clients/customers I support are from a broad spectrum of businesses and occupations. I have provided interpreter support for lawyers, judges, utility companies, hospitals, doctors, nurses and other businesses. This has helped me to enhance my language skills and also deal with difficult or highly technical concepts and be able to translate them from English to Spanish or from Spanish to English. I believe these skills will also help me to provide a high quality tutoring experience for those interested in learning from me.
I have already provided tutoring for some high school students who needed help in understanding their Spanish assignments. I have also helped them to get ready for their tests by practicing different examples from real life language situations. I have helped them practice with their vocabulary and grammar. I also answer any questions they may have to help them better understand their lessons. I also assist them with practicing their spoken Spanish. I believe I can provide a positive and practical learning experience for those interested in furthering their Spanish language skills.
I am interested in providing tutoring and we can meet at the local library. It would also be a great help if students have their lessons printed out and also forward them to me. This would be beneficial for me so I have a better idea of what you need help with the most. Having the lessons forwarded will allow me to be better prepared to help you. However, I will help even if you cannot send me the lessons ahead of time. Having printouts of the lessons is necessary for practice and ensuring the work is done properly for submission.
It gives me great satisfaction to tutor someone and to open their horizons by communicating in a different language. I believe that learning new languages is essential for succeeding in business and also in life. Helping more people to learn and understand another language is also fun for me. I love my language and my culture and am happy to share that with those that truly want to learn. Hello,

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
