My teaching and tutoring career started early, during my second year as an undergraduate student. I began by offering peer tutoring sessions, which provided me with initial insights into various learning styles and how to adapt my explanations accordingly. My role as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Puerto Rico expanded my experience, where I led sessions for Algebra 1 and Precalculus. This role involved creating lesson plans, conducting review sessions, and providing one-on-one assistance, allowing me to develop a comprehensive approach to teaching. Subsequently, I joined Mathnasium Math Learning Center, where for two years, I tutored a diverse group of students ranging from elementary to high school levels. This position required me to tailor my teaching methods to suit different age groups and proficiency levels, enhancing my versatility as an educator.
In addition to my formal teaching roles, I have also taught intermediate algebra at the community college level, providing a supportive learning environment for adult learners returning to education. Throughout my career, I have worked with students aged from young children to adults, in both one-on-one and classroom settings. My teaching methods are rooted in clarity, patience, and adaptability, ensuring that each student grasps fundamental concepts before progressing. Whether in a structured classroom or a more flexible tutoring setting, my goal has always been to foster a deep understanding and appreciation of mathematics in my students.
