Bio

As a current undergraduate civil engineering student at the University of Central Florida, I am proficient in several math and English subjects.

As an engineering student, it is required that I take high level math courses and through the coursework I've completed I can teach math from elementary math, pre algebra, algebra 1, algebra 2, pre-calculus and trigonometry all the way up to differential equations and Calculus 1-3.

As an engineering student, it is required that I take high level math courses and through the coursework I've completed I can teach math from elementary math, pre algebra, algebra 1, algebra 2, pre-calculus and trigonometry all the way up to differential equations and Calculus 1-3.

In high school, I took several college level courses such as Advanced Placement Language and Composition and Advance Placement Literature, which were two of the best courses I took. When teaching students, I use the same exercises that helped me pass those classes. Its not easy work but the payback is worth while! I understand how challenging grade school courses can be. I graduated from high school with several honors distinctions, some which include National Spanish Honors Society, National Social Studies Honors Society and National Technical Honors Society.

I understand the hardships students face in school and I also appreciate the role of tutors. As a tutor, I am looking to expand my knowledge while helping others complete their course work with confidence and clarity. I want my students to be in an environment where they feel at ease asking for help. As your tutor, I will ensure that you or your child will see better grade results. I will gladly guide you or your child towards a successful school year and engage them with fun tactics towards learning challenging course work.

If you end up enjoying tutoring sessions with me, I would appreciate feedback. And if, for any reason, I did not meet your expectations, constructive criticism is welcomed! Please feel free to contact me for further questions or scheduling, as I will try to reply punctually.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have over two years experience working with students tutoring topics ranging from elementary math, algebra 1 & 2, precalculus, geometry, physics and Spanish. In addition to tutoring, I host engineering workshops related to promoting STEM to younger students. As you can see, I truly have a passion for teaching math!
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I took algebra 2 in high school, and as an engineering student, many of the concepts learned through that course are continuously applied in higher level math courses. Math is a major part of my own curriculum and I am well versed in a lot of algebraic concepts.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

When it comes to elementary math, concepts may seem foreign and boring to young children. As a current engineering student, I have an affinity for math related subjects and I understand the dedication that is required to learn harder subjects. I have understood that in order for children to learn not-so-fun concepts, you have to engage them in the topics; make it fun! I try implement math activities that relate to a child's interests and make hard concepts more relatable in a way that they can remember.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I have over two years experience working with students tutoring topics ranging from elementary math, algebra 1 & 2, precalculus, geometry, physics and Spanish. In addition to tutoring, I host engineering workshops related to promoting STEM (science, engineering, technology, and math) to younger students. As you can see, I truly have a passion for teaching math!
Precalculus

Precalculus

Precalculus requires a lot of memorizing formulas, the unit circle and learning how to incorporate trigonometry into precalculus problems. I took precalculus both in high school and college, as it is required for engineering student majors. I struggled in precalculus in high school and after learning how to manipulate equations and formulas and creating my own study sheets, it immensely helped when I took my college course. Because of my experience, I feel confident that I can help aid you/your child into grasping all of the fundamentals of precalc.
Reading

Reading

During my high school education, I took several courses in Advanced Placement reading, writing, and literature. In every concept I scored a four out of five on each exam. Besides math, English related subjects are one of my strong suits and I try to provide all the resources my teachers gave me to the students I tutor. I strongly believe that to become a better reader, it is vital to incorporate critical thinking exercises such as reading and annotating passages to learn and understand how other writers write, study different styles of writing and learn the purpose of different genres, and have a strong foundation in grammar. By practicing those things, a student will have a better understanding in the realm of reading and rhetoric.
Spanish

Spanish

I have been studying Spanish for the past nine years. In high school I took, and passed, Advanced Placement Spanish with a score of 3 out of 5. In addition to taking Spanish courses I was also a member of Los Amigos Vagabundos, which is a Spanish competition team that competes in Orlando. In that club I learned to recite Spanish poems and play from memory and speak one on one with native speakers. Our team won second place both years! Because I am not a native speaker, I understand the challenges a student might face when studying Spanish. It is a subject that takes you out of your comfort zone and I try to push my students to be more willing to step outside and be prepared to learn from mistakes. The only way to really grasp a language is to practice speaking, reading and writing it!
Writing

Writing

During my high school education, I took several courses in Advanced Placement reading, writing, and literature. In every concept I scored a four out of five on each exam. Besides math, English related subjects are one of my strong suits and I try to provide all the resources my teachers gave me to the students I tutor. I strongly believe that to become a better writer, or to comprehend texts more, it is vital to incorporate critical thinking exercises such as reading and annotating passages to learn and understand how other writers write, learn the importance of rough drafts, and have a strong foundation in grammar. By practicing those things, a student will have a better understanding in the realm of writing and rhetoric. Outside of pursuing my bachelors in engineering, I am also in the process of completing a certification in Teaching English to Foreign Learners (TEFL) at the University of Central Florida. This certification focuses on teaching strategies to aid virtually anyone into becoming a fluent English speaker and writer. This experience coupled with the coursework I took in high school reinforces my ability to effectively teach English grammar, writing and rhetoric.
