Hi, I'm Jackie!! I'm a junior majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology at UCF and working in research at one of the UCF biomedical labs. Hi, I'm Jackie!! I'm a junior majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology at UCF and working in research at one of the UCF biomedical labs. There have been a couple of separate times that I've had to get tutoring for difficult classes and had to work extra hard to keep up grades in a course, and I hope that I can use my experiences to help students learn and feel comfortable asking for help when they have trouble.
When I teach, I like to go through examples step-by-step and identify what specifically is causing trouble for the student. For classes like anatomy, I have a lot of tips and tricks for memorizing the curriculum. I typically learn by connecting ideas together rather than memorizing items individually, and have been able to help classmates do the same by talking them through the logic that I use.
I really dislike when people are made to feel less-than in an academic setting just because it takes them a bit longer to become confident in a subject and are judged for asking questions, and I make it a point to encourage asking all questions that a student might have about a subject.
I'm offering tutoring for UCF general and honors curriculum Biology, General Chemistry, Pre-Calculus and Trigonometry, Anatomy and Physiology, and QBM. I can also help students prepare for the SAT, ACT, or AP exams, and proofread writing assignments and applications.
