My name is Rodney and I have over two decades of experience teaching and tutoring math. Since 2008, I have taught at Daytona State College. I have experience helping students from various math backgrounds, at levels of math ranging from high school algebra through upper level college math courses.
I have a passion for math and I enjoy showing students "why" something is true (or "why" a rule "works") as opposed to just showing "how to get the answer." Although I do realize, of course, the value in being able to arrive at the correct answer.
I also want to add that I have personal experience with standardized tests. I have taken multiple actuarial exams and I am familiar with the "beat the clock" testing environment. In helping students prepare for the SAT, I have shared my own test taking experiences.
