Struggling to learn to code? Overwhelmed by AP Computer Science? Stuck on a Performance Task or lost on concepts like inheritance, recursion, or object-oriented programming? You can rest easy now that you've found me! :)

I’ve been tutoring programming students on Wyzant since 2020, with a strong focus on AP Computer Science Principles and AP Computer Science A. Whether your goal is to raise your grade, gain real confidence in programming, or earn a 5 on the AP exam, I can help.

My teaching style is different from most classrooms. Instead of memorizing syntax, we focus on understanding how and why code works. We break problems down, build strong problem-solving habits, and make sure you truly understand the underlying concepts. When that clicks, memorization becomes unnecessary.

I hold a Master of Science in Technical Game Design from UCF’s Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy (FIEA), one of the top-ranked game development programs in the world. During my final semester, I served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, leading lab sessions and teaching programming concepts in C#.

I also earned my Bachelor’s degree in Game Design from UCF with a minor in Computer Science, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a 3.9 GPA. Before that, I attended Pine Crest Preparatory School, completed over 10 AP courses, and graduated with a 4.4 weighted GPA. I’ve been through rigorous coursework at every level and understand exactly what AP students are dealing with.

Please note: I do not complete assignments for students, assist with last-minute requests due unreasonably soon, or provide services that violate academic integrity. My goal is to give students the tools they need to succeed independently. I’m also open to tutoring non-AP programming courses if the material closely overlaps.

Great Tutor

Peter has been an amazing tutor and has really gotten me invested in learning programming. He explains things clearly, is great at answering questions, and goes through subjects at a perfect pace. I've had other coding tutors in the past, but Peter is the one who's most inspired me to strongly enjoy coding and feel like I'm truly understanding things. He's a good listener, and bases lessons around what's most helpful to me at the time, and the things I'm curious about. Would highly recommend.

Knowledgeable and fun tutor.

Peter taught me new techniques and tricks to remember information easier. He stopped to ask if I was understanding the information. He taught me how to use a debugger. Overall, it was a good and helpful lesson.

Provided required clarity and direction

Peter helped decide on AP course choice by providing details of exam prep, grading, content, impact. This let my daughter decide on next steps. He also gave a very crisp explanation of OOP and helped her assess what was important to make progress and what she can wait on. This is extremely important for a first time programmer starting with Java since there are too many concepts that one can get lost in. Peter had a great assessment of what kids need to know, how they learn and gave relatable examples. We will continue tutoring with Peter.

My son’s words : “ mom he is excellent ” and it’s really not easy to get such a compliment from him. Peter is very patient, professional and made a huge effort to support us and to align with our tight schedule. My son said he finally understands the material and even likes to practice it. Highly recommended!

goes above & beyond

Peter works with my son in prep for his AP Computer Science Principles exam. His work with my child, as well as follow-up messages afterwards with more resources, tips, etc, go above and beyond. I have been really appreciative of his care/concern for his student(s).
