Hi! I’m Lydia, a PharmD and experienced tutor specializing in NAPLEX math, pharmacy calculations, chemistry, and algebra.

Hi! I’m Lydia, a PharmD and experienced tutor specializing in NAPLEX math, pharmacy calculations, chemistry, and algebra.

Many of my students are pharmacy graduates who struggle with the NAPLEX due to math, as well as pharmacy, nursing and healthcare students feeling overwhelmed by dosage calculations, pharmacokinetics, or biostatistics. I also work with high school and undergraduate students in General Chemistry and Algebra, including those who need extra structure, confidence or support keeping up with coursework.

I’ve been tutoring since 2012 and tailor every session to how you learn. I’m known for being supportive and thorough, while also helping students build the practice habits needed for retention and progress, whether that means mastering foundational skills or preparing for a high-stakes exam. I provide clear explanations, structured sessions and guidance on how to practice between meetings. After sessions, students typically receive custom notes, optional session recordings, and targeted practice problems, often written to closely match how questions appear on exams or assignments. I also help students develop effective study strategies so improvement continues between lessons.

Academically, I earned my Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the University of Florida and passed the NAPLEX on my first attempt. I graduated pharmacy school with a 3.9 GPA and received the Academic Achievement Award three years in a row. My undergraduate background includes a 4.0 science GPA, a 99th percentile PCAT score and an academic scholar award.

Outside of tutoring, my teaching experience includes serving as a Chemistry Lab TA, Chemistry Learning Assistant, and Biology Peer-Led Team Learning Leader at Florida International University as well as tutoring high-school students through Upward Bound.

I have several years of experience tutoring both high school and college students in Algebra I, Algebra II and College Algebra. I particularly enjoy tutoring in Algebra I and College Algebra. As for my education qualifications: I have a doctorate in Pharmacy from the University of Florida, and in order to attend pharmacy school, I had to pass multiple undergraduate math and science classes, including College Algebra (Algebra I and Algebra II), Trigonometry and Calculus. I received an A in all of the listed courses, and I completed my undergraduate studies with a 4.0 math and science GPA. Additionally, I served as a Chemistry Lab TA at FIU for two years and a Chemistry LA for one year. I also scored in the 99th percentile on the PCAT (overall and chemistry), and I earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida.

I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida College of Communications in 2008. My undergraduate training included several courses focusing on grammar, spelling, fact-checking and editing. During my time at UF, I was published in several periodicals, including the Independent Florida Alligator, The Campus Sun, and Performance magazine. I was also awarded the "Outstanding Scholar" award when I graduated. Additionally, I have taken several creative writing classes at Florida International University. Aside from my education, I have always been the resident proofreader in my group. Both friends and family members come to me for help when they need someone to proofread and edit their work, both fictional and nonfictional. I have also helped several friends write their personal statements for professional school or biographies for corporate websites.

I decided to take a leap of faith and find an online tutor and I am truly grateful that I did. Prior to tutoring with Lydia, I had no confidence in my math skills especially for the daunting NAPLEX exam. Lydia filled my knowledge gap and I learned SO much.
