In the recent past I have helped middle and high-school students understand relevant concepts, complete their assigned work, and succeed in school on this subject. This includes my 12-year old daughter who just started Algebra 1 in 7th grade and is currently excelling in all her assessments. In June of 2009, I was able to achieve a Microsoft Office certification in Word 2007 while being certified in other applications of the Microsoft Office Suite. I also taught Word to college students and have used it extensively throughout my training career.

During my time as Instructor at Remington College, I was able to teach in group sessions (as well as on a one-on-one basis) a few Math courses involving pre-algebra concepts, such as evaluating and simplifying algebraic expressions, equations, scientific notation, ratios, conversions, graph interpretation, statistical concepts, etc. Today, I continue to tutor students with pre-algebra and algebra assignments and have witnessed very positive results.

I have been speaking to audiences of all types in both English and Spanish since my college years (late 80's). In 1996, I joined "Toastmasters International," a well-known public-speaking organization, and in 2000 I achieved a "Competent Toastmaster" Award for successfully completing 10 projects on public speaking and leadership. Since then, through employment and volunteer-related opportunities, I have served in various training-related capacities where I have been able to use and refine my public-speaking abilities.

Being a native Spanish-speaking American from Puerto Rico, I have first-hand experience learning, applying and teaching Spanish since a very young age. After obtaining my Bachelor's degree from La Universidad de Puerto Rico, I have tutored English-only speakers as well as international students on both the written and oral aspects of the Spanish language. My son's grades are good and steady now. So Happy for him, we could not accomplish this without the assistance of Professor Adnel. : ) 11/10/2015. It is always an amazing thing to see your teenager so engaged and looking forward to his next lesson because he understands what his tutor is teaching him. Per my son's own words, "I understand Mr. Abnel better than my own teacher." My son also has ADHD and needed a tutor that has the patience to repeat what is been said more than once or think outside the box and show the lesson in a different way. I recommend to any parent Mr. Abnel as outstanding tutor.
