My Background:
I've built a strong foundation in mathematics from an early stage. In my O-level exams, I earned a A* in Mathematics and an A in Additional Mathematics. I went on to complete advanced pre-university coursework in Pure Mathematics (equivalent to AP Calculus AB/BC), Mechanics, and Statistics, earning an A in each. To gain admission to the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), one of the most competitive business schools in Pakistan, I passed a rigorous entrance exam that included calculus, equivalent to SAT. I completed my Bachelor's in Business Administration (BBA) there. I later moved to New York to complete my Master's in Digital Marketing, a program with a heavy statistical and business-math component, and scored close to a perfect score on the GRE's quantitative section.
Teaching & Tutoring Experience
My tutoring experience spans nearly a decade. I started by informally tutoring peers during school, then began working with middle-school students one-on-one — one student I tutored improved from a C average to a 90%+ (A grade) overall. During my undergraduate years at IBA, I led a group of 4 students (middle school through high school) through a full academic year, with every student's grades rising to an A. I also volunteered as a math teacher for The Citizens Foundation, a nonprofit, where I taught two batches of 30 students each (60 students total), preparing them for undergraduate entrance exams for top universities including IBA, LUMS, NUST, and GIK; 20% of my students went on to gain admission to these top-tier schools. Since moving to the US, I've continued privately tutoring elementary and middle-school students one-on-one, most recently in 2023 and 2024.
My Approach:
I focus on building conceptual understanding before jumping into practice problems, since students plateau when they memorize steps without understanding why a method works.
