My focus is college-level and advanced high school STEM. In math, I tutor Calculus I through III. In the sciences, I cover Chemistry and Physics. I work mostly with college students and upper-level high schoolers who want to get past memorizing and build a real working understanding of the material.
I hold myself to a high standard academically, and that's how I approach teaching others. I'm a National Merit Scholar with a 36 on the ACT and a 1560 on the SAT. Test prep isn't my main focus, but I'm glad to help with the SAT, ACT, or PSAT for students who want it.
I got my start working at the Glendale Community College tutoring center while still in high school, working one-on-one with students in math and writing. When a student feels lost, the problem is rarely ability. Usually a specific concept got skipped somewhere earlier in the sequence, and much of my job is finding that gap and rebuilding from it.
