Incoming UMD CS Major | SAT Math 800 | Algebra through Calculus

Hi! I'm Kade, an incoming Computer Science major at the University of Maryland, where I received the President's Scholarship. I just graduated from Lake Mary Preparatory School in Florida. I scored 800/800 on SAT Math and earned a 5 on AP Calculus AB and BC exam.

I currently tutor SAT Math online, and I build each student's plan around a question-by-question review of their real practice tests. I served as a peer tutor through my high school's National Honor Society chapter, working with classmates and underclassmen on math from Algebra through Calculus. I helped students prepare for tests, work through tricky homework problems, and rebuild foundational concepts when they felt stuck. What I noticed most often is that students who feel lost in math usually got there for a specific reason: an earlier concept wasn't explained in a way that clicked. Once you locate that point and rebuild from there, the rest tends to come back into focus. Walking through the logic of one problem carefully, instead of just handing over the answer, almost always clears things up for the next several problems too.

My teaching style is patient and conversational. I prefer to ask questions and let students work through ideas with guidance rather than lecturing at them. I'll happily slow down on any concept that isn't clicking, and I'm comfortable working with students who feel anxious or frustrated about math.
