Hey! My name is Jacob, and I am currently a graduate student in the Physics Department at the University of Central Florida, where my research focuses on optoelectronics and condensed matter physics. I graduated cum laude from Auburn University with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, along with a minor in Mathematics and an undergraduate certificate in Artificial Intelligence Engineering.

At both Auburn and UCF, I worked as a teaching assistant for introductory physics courses. My responsibilities included preparing and delivering lectures, grading assignments, holding office hours, and assisting students with laboratory work. I took great pride in this role and consistently went above and beyond for my students, many of whom were engineering majors, as these courses lay the foundation of their future careers. My goal is to help students move beyond memorization and instead develop the physical and mathematical intuition needed to truly understand the material.

In addition to physics, I also tutor in areas of mathematics and computer science including, but not limited to, calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, numerical analysis, machine learning, and programming across many different languages. If you are looking for help preparing for an exam, assistance with homework problems, or simply trying to better develop your conceptual understanding, I tailor each session to whatever your specific goal may be.

Approved Subjects

Machine Learning/ AI

Machine Learning/ AI

Received a certificate in Artificial Intelligence Engineering and completed multiple courses in the field of artificial intelligence, including machine learning, deep learning, evolutionary computing, numerical optimization, and data mining. Additionally, I have experience implementing common AI models in Python using libraries such as scikit-learn and TensorFlow.
Quantum Physics

Quantum Physics

Completed multiple advanced undergraduate and graduate coursework in quantum and statistical mechanics. These courses represent some of my strongest academic performances, and I am most confident in this subject compared to other areas of graduate level physics. I am highly confident teaching these topics at the undergraduate and introductory graduate level, and my research applies quantum physics to optical and material systems.
