Graduating with the highest honors and earning a place on the President's Honor Roll each semester is a display of my dedication and commitment, which are qualities I strive to instill in all of my students! I have 3+ years of experience tutoring elementary school students (grades 1 through 5) online in subjects such as Foundational Math, Life Science, and English Language Arts. I have served as a teaching assistant in Physical, Life, and Earth science-based classes for grades 1 through 8, where I provided one-on-one tutoring in classroom settings to students who needed an extra bit of help. Throughout my studies, I focused on many developmental psychology courses that provided me with great knowledge of effective learning strategies. My experience working with young learners has taught me that they require an engaging learning environment, which is what my tutoring approach is built around!
What draws me to tutoring is the opportunity to make a difference in a student's journey! I offer one-on-one virtual tutoring sessions for elementary students (grades 1 through 5) in a variety of subjects such as Foundational Math, Language Arts, and Life/Earth/Space Science. I also offer general homework help sessions year-round and summer enrichment sessions from May through August for ongoing learning. My sessions include a structured lesson with active learning, interactive examples, and take-home assignments where my students can reinforce what they've learned. Sessions can be adjusted and are always fit to the student's needs. I use visual tools and interactive techniques in lessons to really make concepts stick! As a result, many of my students have shown noticeable improvement in classes, as well as state testing reading scores.
