As an ESP tutor, I draw on my graduate degree in Applied Linguistics and two years of focused teaching experience to help learners master the specific language and communicative demands of their academic and professional fields. My background allows me to analyze learners’ needs with precision and design instruction that is both targeted and practical. I work closely with authentic materials, discipline-specific genres, and high-cognitive tasks so that students can build real proficiency, not just classroom fluency.

I also bring a broader interdisciplinary perspective, since I am currently enrolled in a political science program; this helps me support students working in policy, international studies, and other social-science areas with clarity and confidence. Whether I’m guiding learners through workplace communication, academic writing, or field-specific terminology, I prioritize clear explanations, individualized feedback, and steady, challenging growth. My goal is always the same: to help students use English effectively where it matters most.

As a second language learner myself (German), I understand the students perspective.

English

English

I have experience working with students that age (about 1 year) and a master's in teaching English.
ESL/ESOL

ESL/ESOL

This is one of my strongest areas of expertise. I have over 5 years teaching experience, and I hold a master's degree in teaching English as a second language (Applied linguistics). Whether vocabulary, grammar, or general fluency teaching, I can help you reach your English goals.
Grammar

Grammar

I have 2 years of experience teaching on top of my graduate degree. Also, having studied philosophy at the undergraduate level, I learned to approach language holistically—asking what language means to students as they learn and how we can ease the process.
Linguistics

Linguistics

My Master's degree in TESOL (Applied linguistics) has elements or grammar, phonetics, syntax, and language acquisition theories. I should be suitable to teach basic linguistic theory at a High school or community college level. I also have about 5 or 6 years of teaching experience.
Philosophy

Philosophy

I studied Philosophy at the University of Central Florida; moreover, I have dedicated extensive readings to subjects in the field--aesthetics, ethical theory, and philosophy of religion. I can help with understanding the finer points of readings, thesis development, or understanding the methods of philosophy.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

My Master's degree is in Applied Linguistics (TESOL) which has elements of education, linguistics, and writing techniques which would help me in this subject area. My Bachelor's degree is in philosophy and rhetoric--rhetoric being the foundation of public speaking.
Reading

Reading

I have a master’s in applied linguistics (TESOL) and UCF—specific coursework was dedicated to vocabulary and comprehension.
Religion

Religion

At UCF our philosophy and religion studies departments are closely intertwined. For example, I took several REL courses (religion and philosophy in film and writing, philosophy of religion, and my capstone course was a paper on ontological arguments) during my time UCF, so I am well versed in religious discourse and history. I can teach at a fairly advanced level.
TOEFL

TOEFL

I hold an M.A. in Applied Linguistics (TESOL) and have several years of experience teaching English to international students, including those preparing for the TOEFL exam. My background in language theory and philosophy allows me to break down complex reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills in a clear, approachable way. I focus on building confidence, test-taking strategies, and the academic English students need to succeed on all TOEFL sections. My lessons create a relaxed, supportive online environment where students learn effectively and enjoy the process.
Vocabulary

Vocabulary

I hold an M.A. in Applied Linguistics with a focus on how learners acquire vocabulary, meaning, and word relationships. I help students build strong, practical vocabulary through clear explanations, memorable examples, and strategies they can use in real conversations and academic writing. My teaching style blends linguistic knowledge with a relaxed, friendly approach that makes learning new words enjoyable and less intimidating. Whether you're preparing for school, tests, or everyday communication, I can help you expand your vocabulary with confidence.
World History

World History

My degree at university level was in Philosophy and Rhetoric; however, during my studies, I took several course which focused on history (ancient philosophy, world civilizations 1 & 2, medieval philosophy, and also several graduate course in political theory which focused on historical narratives). I am well versed in the history of both the pre and post antiquity Mediterranean world, the near east, and American history after the civil war. If you need help organizing research, writing a paper, understanding historical themes or checking for historical accuracy, I can be of great use!
Writing

Writing

I hold an M.A. in Applied Linguistics and have extensive experience helping students strengthen their academic, professional, and creative writing. My background in philosophy and rhetoric allows me to teach writing as both a clear communication skill and a tool for organizing complex ideas. I guide students through every stage of the writing process—from developing strong arguments to refining style, structure, and clarity—while giving practical, easy-to-apply feedback. My sessions offer a relaxed, supportive environment where writers can grow in confidence and learn to enjoy expressing themselves.
