UCF Undergraduate Studying Psychology

Hello, my name is Liliana! I am an undergraduate at the University of Central Florida, majoring in psychology. I graduated from high school with a 4.2 GPA in the Class of 2024, in the top 10% of my class and the top 20% in the state. I have informal tutoring experience with elementary schoolers and high schoolers on select topics. I also have some teaching/coaching experience with the Color Guards, in which I have participated. As the eldest daughter, I helped raise and teach my little sister, teaching me compassion and patience, which I plan to utilize in my tutoring.

One of my core beliefs is that the education of the youth is the start of creating a better world and that everybody should have equal access and opportunities to schooling. I have informal experience teaching/tutoring elementary-age students in basic subjects such as math, reading, and science. Not only have I taught children, but I also have provided daycare services to local elementary schools during after-school PTO activities. Watching over those kids has taught me how to tailor solutions and instruction to specific kids since everyone does not learn the same way.

My tutoring experience is not limited to only children; I also have some experience with high school students in Spanish and psychology. In the past, I have tutored my peers in Spanish 1 and Spanish 2. I grew up surrounded by Latino culture due to my heritage and while I lived in Puerto Rico. Throughout high school, I took Spanish classes, and I am currently taking a college-level class to further my understanding of the language. When it comes to psychology, I have helped my peers prepare for the AP Psychology test since I received a five on the test. My knowledge of psychology has only grown since majoring in it during my collegiate studies.
