Hello, I am Victor and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Central Florida. Due to my expertise, I played an extensive role in leading study groups and helping fellow students master tough course material such as Organic Chemistry and Calculus. What stood out the most during my engineering coursework was the impact the instructor's teaching style had on course difficulty. My professors who could acknowledge the novice level of the class and teach accordingly often boasted stronger test scores and student performance. Influenced by this observation, I strongly believe every instructor should strive to connect to students at a basic level. When working with students, I always ensure that the most basic of concepts are understood before tackling more advanced topics. Additionally, I make it a point of duty to avoid overloading my students with information and frequently ask questions to ensure their comprehension and retention.
I have spent the last 2 years engaged in one-on-one online tutoring with students at the middle school and up to college level in both Algebra and Chemistry. Additionally, I have taught small classes of up to 10 students. During these sessions I mainly provide assistance with homework, but I also have constructed lesson plans and reviewed material from their classes. Through homework and additional practice problems on perceived weaknesses, I have been able to improve many of my students grades and class performances.
