Hello, prospective student. My name is William. I received my BA from Mercer University, where I primarily studied history, with an emphasis on ancient Greece and Rome. I studied modern history as well, including a large quantity of American history. I achieved high marks and graduated Magna Cum Laude. In addition, I was a member of my college’s history and foreign language honor societies. I developed an efficient study strategy that included collaborating with students and helping them to achieve high grades in the classes as well.

After college, I attended Barry Law School in Orlando, FL and earned a JD with honors. I graduated top 7.5% of my class and got the highest grade in five of my courses. I went on to practice law in various capacities including as a litigator, administrative lawyer and, most recently, as a patent analyst. Therefore, I am confident that I can help students with legal concepts such as torts, contracts, IP and criminal law.

Finally, my journey led me to earn a second bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Central Florida, where I finished with a 3.63 GPA. I achieved high marks, especially in math. I earned an A in precalc, trig and calcs I-III. I can use my studies to provide students with help with their math struggles, not only based on my achievement in the courses but given my own struggles with math. I worked with a tutor that helped direct me in my studies to get a more concrete understanding of math theory and how math is useful in the real world as a key to a successful career.

In sum, I have a broad knowledge that I can leverage to help students overcome their struggles in the classroom. I will present a plan for working through homework and preparing for exams. This plan will include working with the student on homework and writing projects as well as reviewing homework, exams, quizzes and papers to find where the student is weak and focus on strengthening that area.
