Hello there, my name is Julian B. I am a graduate from Florida State University with an Economics degree. I have had extensive experience tutoring many friends and students throughout my high school, college, and post-university life. I can teach a variety of different subjects such as math, economics, statistics, languages etc. I am especially fluent in Japanese, as I have been interested in Japanese culture since I was in elementary school. I have worked in a medical corporation in Osaka, Japan and self-studied the language.

I believe that in order to teach something well, you must have a sufficient level of knowledge in that subject to pass the knowledge down to someone else. Learning something such as a language takes a lot of practice and time, but the fundamentals of the language are so important, that if you can master the basics everything else becomes much easier to learn. I really love Japanese culture, and wish for others to feel the same way as me. The barrier to a culture is broken through communication, and language holds that type of power. Those who wish to put in effort to learn, can be taught. Whether it is a subject like economics or a language, I believe that each student requires different methods (listening lessons, visual lessons etc.) of teaching to fully absorb knowledge. I have been tutoring for about 11 years now, at people's homes, at my home, through Skype, and have enjoyed seeings my students grow to the point where my help is no longer needed.

I am now going to a graduate school for training in professional translation for Japanese to English, and am working as a freelance translator and tutor.
It has taken me a long time to become a good translator, but there is always room for improvement. I really enjoy working together with those who have a desire for knowledge and those who do not give up easily. I have been raised in a household of people who value education, and my mother and father are teachers/professors so I believe I inherited from them my desire to teach others. Buil
