I have a Masters from Grand Canyon State University and degree in Elementary Education from St. Thomas University. I like to make deals and play games in order for a student to understand the material. I am a good motivator. 6th grade was my favorite group of students, I taught 6th grade for 21 years!
Reading is my favorite subject, I can get the student to visualize what they are reading and create mental images of their comprehension. Vocabulary has soooo many strategies, it is also the key to good reading.
I used to use the program "Hooked on Phonics". It taught me all the basics, I also teach teachers how to incorporate phonics lessons into their vocabulary lessons through an online reading endorsement program.
