I enjoy helping students of all ages to be successful and feel that everyone can learn if they have the desire. A student needs the tools for success and the motivation to use them. I have the great ability to figure out how a student learns from the three types of learning. I integrate all three methods of learning within my tutoring and can provide tactile materials. I also use the two Sensory methods within my tutoring.

I am a retired Chemical Engineer who also taught at both the High School and College levels. I taught Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Business Mathematics, Discrete Mathematics, Trigomometry and Calculus at the High School level. At the College level I taught General Physics, General Chemistry amd Thermodynamics. I can provide tutoring in many types of engineering. Those types of engineering include: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engineering.

Algebra 1

Algebra 1 is an important class for a student that is preparing to go to college or to a technical school. The tools in this class prepare a student for Geometry and Algebra 2. I have great knowledge of Algebra and it was my first class that I taught at the High School level.

I taught this class for many years and found that the skills needed to be successful in this class are an important part of Advanced Mathematics classes above Algebra 2.
Chemical Engineering

Chemical Engineering

Chemical Engineering is designing equipment by use of the physical laws (physics) and chemistry laws. Newtons first and third laws (conservation of mass and energy) allows us to write mass and energy balances across a piece of equipment. I have worked in designing waste water treatment plants, water (potable) treatment and combined cycle power plants. I have also taught mathematics, physics and chemistry in the past (mathematics and chemistry at the college levels) so the next topic for me to teach should be engineering.
Civil Engineering

Civil Engineering

While I was studying Chemical Engineering I took many Civil Engineering classes as core classes and as electives. The classes that I took as core classes that were Civil Engineering classes were a Materials class, Engineering Statistics and a class in Linear Algebra was taught by the Civil Engineering department. The classes that I took as electives were environmental classes which were a part of the Civil Engineering curriculum. Those classes were Air Pollution Design, Waste Water Design and Environmental Equipment Design (which is the taken to work in Environmental Engineering). I have also worked designing Water Treatment Plants and Waste Water Treatment Plants.
Organic Chemistry

Organic Chemistry

I took Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 with the labs. As a Chemical Engineer I had to be able to use the chemistry of the process to develop the most efficient manner of developing the Organic Product. I made B's in both chemistry classes also and did all the work needed to be successful in a class that had a 50% drop rate. I also have taught Chemistry at both the High School and College levels. This is a class that I have a clear understanding of and it is very important to all those in the medical fields.

Physics is the study of the physical that govern our world. I had to use them to design equipment. I taught Physics at the High School level.

Well Prepared

I'm taking organic chemistry over the summer, needless to say, it can be very overwhelming. Not only did Milo get back to me quickly, but also, two days later, when we had the tutoring session he was very prepared for it. Okay tutor but had no follow through

My 15 yr old stated much of the time tutoring for honors geometry was spent with the tutor looking up in the book how to answer the problems, and he was answering them himself instead of allowing my son to work the problems up himself. His test grades did not improve and then the tutor would not return calls or emails.
