My name is Christin, and I am a Science and Allied Health Tutor. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with honors, more than 50 graduate credits in Biology and an M.D.. I have experience as both an instructor teaching science and Allied Health students, and as a tutor for students ranging from elementary to college level.
I make it my mission to provide high quality, affordable one-on-one online tutorial services for students who have difficulty understanding concepts, or who wish to improve their grades.
I love tutoring because it is a medium by which I can help my students to maximize learning. By working one-on-one with students, I am able to prepare clear, concise personalized objectives and help my students to reach them. I help my students to measure their progress not only by their in-school performance but with personal benchmarks that we establish early on in our sessions.
What makes me a good tutor? I enjoy breaking difficult concepts down and helping my students understand them. I have an extensive educational background (see above), which enable me to be versed in Biology and Medicine (especially Anatomy and Genetics). As a life-long student of science, I can show my students how to study effectively, using online tools and their textbooks. Need help making more effective notes in class? I can help with that too!
In addition to tutoring science and medicine, I am an avid graphic and web designer! I am skilled at Photoshop, Illustrator and at coding in HTML and CSS. My love for teaching extends to this subject area as well, and I aim to help my students excel in these areas too.
If you would like to know more about me and/or my qualifications or if you have any questions, feel free to contact me. I look forward to hear from you soon. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
