Hello! My name is Vonabell and I have been a tutor for 5 years specializing in English and American Sign Language (including to physically and/or mentally handicapped adults and children). However, my main experience is found working with elementary age students who are struggling with homework for common core studies. I also have over 100 practice hours experience learning and tutoring for SATs and ACTs, as well as PSATs.
My main prerogative when tutoring is to make sure that the student is having fun while retaining information. I find that it not only makes the experience more pleasant, but also helps develop a calm mindset to truly learn, rather than just having the instruction pass from one ear to another. I love teaching because every person is different and needs help at some point in their lives. I love helping people and find that it not only brings me joy, but impacts lives in a positive way. That alone, makes everything worthwhile.
My first bachelor degree was in Education - specifically ages 3 - 13. I also have been a homework tutor for children and teenagers for 8 years.
