For ten years I administered a pre-trial diversion program for defendants found incompetent to stand trial. Once in our program, I met with them one-on-one and taught them about court terminology and procedures. Aside from the assigned material, I used newspapers, TV and the internet to educate my clients about how to navigate their way through the court system. To be sure, we discussed much more than the duties of a bailiff or how bond works. We discussed personal issues, goals, aspirations and problems. I was mentor, advisor, counselor and confidante. I worked closely with family members, public defenders and family members to assure their participation in the program.
I have an A.A. and a B.A.A. Personally, I am an avid reader and history buff. Areas of personal interest include aviation, music, wildlife, politics, the environment, World War II, the Civil War and ancient Egypt.
