I am now enrolled at Keiser University and will be entering the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. In high school, I tutored third graders for two years and it was amazing! Seeing their confidence return and their love for school growing is such a wonderful thing to witness.
Primarily, I helped them with math related problems and grammar. For example, counting money and long division were two areas where my students needed some clarification. In the grammar department, they needed guidance through identifying what subjects, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, and prepositions were. I gave them tests and quizzes as well and I definitely saw improvement.
I also helped with kindergarten for two years! I assisted with reading, writing, math, and spelling. I spent a lot of time helping students feel supported, and I loved watching them grow more confident!
My overall goal is to not only get my students understanding the material, but to also build their confidence and to make learning fun and interesting.
