Bio

I graduated from the University of Utah in Biology and recently moved back to FL. I tutored during college and worked with groups a lot helping each other prepare for tests as well. I really love helping students learn and I am in Graduate school for Marine Biology while working as a teaching assistant.

I have learned/worked with many tutors in my 4 years of college so I am very familiar with tutoring strategies and how to help students understand new concepts and ideas.

I have completed my Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Utah which required the completion of Math courses as well. I completed Prealgebra, Trigonometry, Algebra 1+2, Statistics and Calculus 1+2 in my undergraduate career. Now in my graduate school at Nova Southeastern University I have taken Biostatistics and Biochemistry which include higher level math that was learned in Algebra and Calculus courses. My thesis that I am currently working on is very statistics based so I continue to use math constantly.

I have a degree in Biology and have currently completed 33 credit hours of my Masters degree and I am currently working on my thesis in Marine science. I have taken numerous biology courses including Intro to Biology 1+2, Mammalogy, Biology of Skates and Ray, Deep-Sea biology, Geology, Ecology , Human Physiology, Immunology. I tutored other students during my undergraduate career and was a TA for Intro to Biology 1 at Nova Southeastern University.

Physiology

I have taken introduction to Ecology courses at the University of Utah. At the graduate degree level I have taken courses including Marine Ecology, Deep-sea biology and the Biology of Skates and Rays which are all ecology intensive courses. My thesis is on Sergestidae shrimp in the Gulf of Mexico so I do have detailed knowledge about ecology and constantly use this knowledge as I continue to progress on my thesis work.

Knowledgeable and goes that extra mile

My Sophomore daughter is struggling with her AICE Marine class. I found Erik, he agreed to help and jumped in right away. She has had tutors prior to this in other subjects, and I must say that Erik went above and beyond. My daughter got a much better understanding about the topics they covered and appreciated his ability to teach to her level. We absolutely will be scheduling more sessions with Erik.
