Hi, I’m Suzy! My passion for tutoring began when I was an undergraduate student. Over the past 20 years, I have worked in tutoring and higher education in a variety of roles. I hold a Doctor of Education and a Master of Education in Adult Education, have worked as a peer tutor, developed academic workshops, and taught college success and transition courses for more than 15 years. I currently teach online at Southern New Hampshire University and have earned Master Tutor status with a national tutoring organization. Throughout my career, I have primarily worked with college students and adult learners, including online students, returning students, and individuals balancing education with work and family responsibilities. My experience includes one-on-one tutoring, peer tutoring, in-person and online classroom instruction, and the development of academic support workshops. I work with students on writing skills, grammar, sentence structure, APA and MLA formatting, study skills, time management, and academic organization.
My tutoring approach focuses on helping students understand not only what changes to make, but why those changes matter. During our sessions, I use conversation, guided practice, and personalized resources to help students strengthen their skills and become more confident, independent learners.
