Hi, I'm Jack. I'm an accounting tutor who specializes in helping college students get through Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting, the two courses that trip up more business majors than any other. My goal in every session is to turn material that feels overwhelming into something that finally makes sense.
I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, specializing in Accounting, and earned a 4.0 across my accounting coursework. I am currently sitting for the CPA exam and averaging a 90 on the sections I have completed so far, so the concepts your class is covering are fresh in my mind and I can connect them to how they are used in practice.
Most of my teaching experience comes from more than 600 hours as a Teaching Assistant for my university's introductory Financial and Managerial Accounting courses. I worked primarily with undergraduates, most of them 18 to 22 and taking accounting for the first time. Each week I led classes of 20 to 30 students in a classroom setting, prepared my own lesson plans, and held office hours where I provided both group and one-on-one tutoring. I also offered private, individualized exam preparation for students who needed extra support. This gave me a clear picture of how college accounting courses are structured and, just as importantly, where students tend to get stuck.
The way I teach reflects what I learned there. Rather than relying on memorization, I work step by step through homework and practice problems and focus on the reasoning behind each entry, so students understand why an answer is correct and can repeat the process on their own. I tailor every session to the individual, whether that means reviewing before an exam, untangling a difficult chapter, or rebuilding confidence from the ground up. If you are struggling in your accounting class, or simply want to stay ahead of it, message me with your course and what you are working on, and we will build a plan to get you where you want to be.
