Hi, I am a charismatic and passionate software developer who believes software is easy, fun and a very pleasant activity.
I was born in Kiev, Ukraine, where I went to school with strong STEM curriculum and started programming at the ripe age of 13. I graduated NYU Computer Science in 1993 where I learned from the best and most enthusiastic scholars, like professor Robert Dewar and professor Nathan Hull to name a few. I made my ends meet by tutoring calculus and found teaching experience to be exhilarating.
After college, I started working on Wall St as a trading systems software developer, and had a privilege of producing mission critical back end software systems, used by many large institutions to this day.
I have tremendous level of fluency in software design, Java, C, classic C++, server design, networking, multi-threading, UNIX, Linux, databases, you name it.
I know how to teach complex concepts in simple and approachable terms, so my students finally "get it", because I fully understand these concepts myself. I love to empower my students with knowledge and see them take off on their own, and ultimately make computing their new hobby or perhaps a new job !
