Bio

I have a Doctor of Philosophy in Modeling and Simulation, a Master of Science in Systems Management (MBA for technical organizations), and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. In addition to more than 12 years of tutoring experience, I am also a cognitive scientist, a human knowledge theoretician, published in scholarly journals, and have taught at the college level.

In addition to more than 12 years of tutoring experience, I am also a cognitive scientist, a human knowledge theoretician, published in scholarly journals, and have taught at the college level.

We will have the benefit of the world's first online, quantitative, instructional design and learning design decision support system which I have developed over many years of research. I was awarded a grant by the U.S. National Science Foundation to develop this potentially paradigm-changing product and have a patent pending on the process.

Unique among other tutors, my normal protocol consists of 4 steps: (1) find the holes in your foundational knowledge (i.e., finding a weakness is a win); (2) fill the holes; (3) learn test-taking strategies, and (4) learn learning strategies (I've catalogued more than 130). The result is: (1) you will learn the subject matter well - with great clarity; (2) you will test well; (3) you will become a great lifelong learner, and (4) you will have fun doing steps 1-3. You will become short-term smarter and long-term wiser - a better, more competent, more complex, more creative human being, ready to grow individually and make great contributions to society.

Bottom line: Results matter. I was ranked the #1 tutor from more than 700 WyzAnt tutors in the Central Florida area for two years in a row, have been ranked as high as #2 nationally, and have more than 800 five-star reviews. In 2019 one of my students became a Florida State Mathematics Champion.

Having earned a Ph.D., I consider myself to be a great learner. I don't know everything, but there's not much I can't learn. Leveraging this interest and expertise in learning, I have developed a unique online system which recommends optimal learning strategies to you, the learner, in real time. As the situation changes, the recommendations change. As it gets smarter, the recommendations get better. There are currently more than 80 learning strategies in the system, and I hope you will learn them all - what they are, how to use them, and when to use them. Developing this ability to learn will give you a great lifelong skill in an increasingly dynamic and competitive world.

My many years as a successful student in the TEAS subject areas (culminating in a Ph.D.), my knowledge of optimal instructional and learning strategies, and the proper patient and encouraging attitude toward your emotional needs qualify me to tutor you on the TEAS test. AP Stats!! Fun Tutor!

Roger has been the only tutor I've been able to find to help my daughter with AP statistics. Many other tutors have turned us down because of the subject. Not only was I thankful to find him, he is a fabulous teacher!! My daughter was very upset with herself for not understanding at school, and Roger quickly turned her feelings around as he taught her some foundational skills in the subject. He is patient, fun and knowledgeable. I am a teacher and I've never heard of making Statistics fun. I would recommend him to anyone. We are so thankful! My daughter is looking forward to meeting with him again :)

Mr roger was patient and organized. He spent time understanding gabriel's specific challenges and helped lay out a plan to get him prepared for his next SAT. Roger worked with my son on his understanding of trigonometry and was able to identify some areas that he was weak in. He also worked with him on graphing trigonometric functions which he was struggling with. My son came away feeling better about the subject but also with a realization he had more to work on. We both agreed that Roger was extremely helpful and will be working with him more.
