In my 10 years of working in elementary education, I spent 7 years in the classroom teaching and have spent the last 3 years as a Math and Science Instructional Coach for all grades K-5 working alongside teachers and students in small groups or 1:1. I am Thinking Math trained for both K-2 and 3-5 along with my other endorsements. I take a lot of pride in my approach to teaching hands-on. In math, we use a lot of hands-on manipulatives to ensure students are beginning with conceptual understanding of skills, transitioning to semi-concrete representation and then abstract representation. For science, hands-on experiments are a fun way to learn different phenomenon and Nature of Science benchmarks. One of the things that has made my students very successful is preparing them for FAST testing. I also teach students test taking strategies so that they feel prepared on Statewide Assessments.
I worked with 22 5th graders this year (25-26) in small groups to provide targeted instruction in mathematics. Out of those 22 students, 21 of the 22 students jumped 1 or more FAST levels from beginning of year to end.
I worked with 19 4th graders this year (25-26) in small groups to provide targeted instruction in mathematics. Out of those 19 students, all 19 students grew 1 or more FAST levels from beginning to end of year.
I worked with 12 second grade students this year (25-26) in small group to provide targeted instruction in reading. Out of those 12 students, 9 jumped 1 or more FAST levels from beginning of year to end.
I am ready to tutor students in grades K-5 that need additional support in reading, math and science! I can hold virtual sessions for non-locals or in-person sessions for families that are local to Orange County. Reach out today for more informat
