Knowledgeable and Flexible Tutor
Marcela has been a wonderful tutor! I wanted to practice conversational Spanish before my trip to Chile & Argentina. Throughout the class, we have reviewed Spanish basics while having many conversations using new vocabulary and different verb tenses. She teaches in Spanish or English, depending on my level of understanding (it varies by topic), and is very good at pausing and reviewing if I don’t understand something. My favorite part is that she asks questions and creates easy conversation about our weeks and lives, which has greatly increased my ability to listen and speak back in real conversations. I took a community college “conversational” class last fall, but in a class of 10 people, I only spoke 3-4 times a class…one on one lessons with Marcela have been far more effective at increasing my conversational skills. Highly recommend!
