My name is Andres, and I am a student at Miami Dade College, where I am enrolled in a Discrete Mathematics course, with the future intention of earning a bachelor's degree in either Mathematics or Secondary Mathematics Education. Throughout my academic career I have excelled in math. Some of my notable achievements include winning a Geometry excellence award (only 2 awarded in a class of 400 students), earning a 5 on the AP calculus exam, and scoring a 790 on the Math portion of the SAT.
In high school, I was a member of the Math Honors Society, where I earned community service hours by tutoring lower-level students. Regarding my higher education math career, I've completed advanced classes such as Calculus III and Differential Equations, with my eyes now set on Linear Algebra.
I believe I can help you in math, but more specifically SAT Math. In my preparations for the SAT, I practiced what seemed to be thousands of problems. And now, in offering SAT-specific tutoring services, I have continued to study the exam, from both a Math perspective, but also a standardized exam perspective. Certain questions are assuredly going to be asked (and maybe multiple times, but worded differently). It's important to be prepared, especially when preparation is so doable.
I offer affordable Test-Prep services, contrary to many tutors. My approach to a tutoring session is simple: practice, practice, practice. I've prepared many PowerPoints, with deep analysis of typical questions. This approach is very simple, and it's far more neat and time-effective than writing on a whiteboard. Additionally, the fact that I will be preparing problems gives me a chance to prepare and fine-tune my explanation (while problems may be simple for me to solve, they sometimes require a lot of thought on how to communicate the procedures effectively). All of this is to say that the sessions will be efficient, and I won't be winging anything.
