My goal is to guide students in expressing their intent and artistic intuition at the cello with clarity and ease. I have taught cello in schools, community programs, through private instruction, and at the university level for over ten years. Students have ranged from adult beginners looking to learn their favorite songs on the cello, beginner lessons from age 4, to high-level conservatory students and everything in between! Whether you are looking to pick up the cello for fun or prepare for competitions and auditions I am here to help you reach your cello goals!

Students have gone on to study at schools such as Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music, Rice Shepherd School of Music, University of Miami and many more. I hope to instill the confidence and ability at the cello for students to achieve their highest potential while, most importantly, having fun!

Impressive and Talented Cello Tutor - more like a Professor!

Abraham was able to disarm my 7-year old daughter almost immediately. He's personable and charming and perfect for working with children. He was able to quickly adapt and guide the lesson in a really fun and engaging way, while making a remarkable difference in the before-and-after results of playing a song. He worked with improving her bow arm - chicken and arrow - and positioned the cello where it worked better for her. She was so eager to play her favorite song, Paint it Black, and he was genuinely engaged. He was an intense listener and watcher as she played her pieces - and I can only imagine the genius behind his eyes processing of information and analyzing and planning his next move, and then without hesitating, he launched into his plan of attack with praise, rewarding her efforts with upbeat enjoyment! He's got a dichotomous style between fun and serious, focused learning where the student progresses with work, but it doesn't seem like work. The lesson flew by so quickly and she wanted more. We want to work with him for the next 12 years! I almost hate to write this because, really, I want him all to ourselves and want first pick of his available time! I know he's going to be the most in-demand cello tutor in no time! He's seriously great and feel fortunate to have found him!
