Hey there! I'm Allison, an internal medicine & pediatrics resident doctor in Miami, FL. My diverse experiences as an after-school teacher, AP/SAT/ACT tutor, student journalist at UCLA, and doctor have equipped me well to help you identify your goals, learning styles, and areas of improvement! I have edited over 10 personal statement at the levels of college, medical school, and residency entry with my background as an English minor. I am passionate about working with students at all ages. I think education is not only a wonderful practical "tool" for achieving your goals in life, but also a way to explore yourself. I try to approach teaching as a space to explore what learning methods, tips, and workflow work for the individual student. I have passed the MCAT and USMLE Steps 1, 2 and 3 exams with above-average scores.

I have 4 years of tutoring experience in AP Biology and SAT/ACT preparation for high school students. During this time, I have helped students dissect their course material and work through all sections of their standardized exams. It is important for me to dive into the "why" and "how" of their incorrects. Not only that, but focusing on the "what next" is crucial for score improvement and minimizing test anxiety. Additionally, I have spent 1 year teaching after-school science to elementary age students and developing creative lesson plans. Finally, I have performed in-depth application reviews for college, medical school, and PA school (mostly in my personal circle). I have used my 4-year experience as a college journalist and English minor to provide detailed feedback on their personal statements and help them get accepted to their schools of choice.
