My objective is to provide practical and informed musical instruction in an empathetic and accessible way. I believe that every student learns in a unique manner, and that kind of discernment is key for conveying information in an effective and enjoyable way.
A little bit about myself:
I grew up in Brazil and moved to the the U.S. about 20 years ago, right around the time that I first started playing the guitar. I attended the University of Miami and Florida International University, and hold bachelors and masters degrees in jazz guitar performance. I've been working as a performer and educator for about 12 years now, and have had the pleasure of having helped students of all ages in the pursuit of their musical interests and proficiency goals.
I've played in various bands, performing a wide variety of music (Jazz, Brazilian, Top40, Classical, Rock/Blues, Church, Spiritual/Medicine Music), at numerous small and large venues, at private parties, corporate events, weddings, etc.
I am currently adjunct music faculty at the university level, and formerly I've taught at multiple K-12 schools, have taken up leadership roles as musical director, as well as administrative director at music education organizations and church institutions.
Disciplines Taught:
1) Guitar - Acoustic & Electric (most popular genres - see bio)
