📝 Hi, my name is Rose, and I’m a patient, supportive math tutor with 8 years of teaching and tutoring experience working with students from elementary school through high school. I hold an Accounting degree from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Through making math a pleasant learning experience, I help students build confidence and improve their skills in elementary and middle school math, algebra 1 and 2, geometry and HSPT/ ACT prep.
I strive to create a warm, inviting learning environment, where students feel encouraged to ask questions and can absorb information in a way that works best for them. My ability to listen, along with being approachable, patient, and understanding, has helped my students achieve strong results. I am committed to each student’s academic progress and success, and I take the time to understand both student and parent goals so I can support them effectively.
In each session with elementary and middle school students, I identify gaps in understanding, teach concepts in a patient, structured way, work through problems step-by-step together and build confidence through guided practice and repetition. I aim to make learning a positive experience that supports long-term success.
In HSPT and ACT test prep sessions, I provide targeted support for exams including: test-taking strategies, timing and pacing skills, focused practice on key concepts and confidence-building under pressure.
I always work to address each student’s individual needs. My goal is to benefit every student I work with as much as possible, so I welcome any resources or suggestions that students or parents can provide to support their learning.
I am easy to reach and always respond promptly. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a lesson — I look forward to helping your student succeed in math!
