Bio

Teaching has always been my passion since I was five, especially since I grew up in a household of teachers. I absolutely love working with children and have had the opportunity to work with diverse age groups and students with special needs. I am currently teaching Kindergarten in Miami, but have previous experience with preschoolers with Autism. In addition, I'm also one of the Spanish teachers for the language magnet program at my school.

I am currently teaching Kindergarten in Miami, but have previous experience with preschoolers with Autism. In addition, I'm also one of the Spanish teachers for the language magnet program at my school.

This summer, I will have a very flexible and open schedule so I look forward to booking clients that may need additional help in preparation or reinforcement in early elementary grades. My previous experience with special needs students also allows me to aide families in tutoring and developing social skills. I am moving into my 10th year teaching Kindergarten students and have experience referring students with ADHD as well as supporting those who already come in with IEPS or 504 plans. I am familiar with providing these students with visual and verbal supports, extended time, and smaller group settings for testing and differentiated instruction. I work along with school psychologists, counselors, special education teachers, parents, and administrators to help meet the needs of these children.

I have three years of experience working at a preschool for students with Autism and others with Developmental Delay. The Baudhuin Preschool in Broward County was excellent in terms of providing children with special needs the physical, occupational, and speech therapy they needed prior to beginning Kindergarten. Here I was not only able to work with such experienced colleagues, but I was also able to develop and set up individualized goals for my students, organize and write up student IEPS, create student centers to meet their needs, and communicate with parents via newsletters and frequent meetings to monitor student growth.

I have been teaching Kindergarten for the past five years, including one year I was able to teach first grade. The majority of my students and tutoring experience has been with the younger grade levels, but my Reading Master's allows me to teach students up to sixth grade. I am a general education teacher that covers all subjects including science, social studies, math, reading, writing, and Spanish.

Part of my duties included creating flyers, posters, and brochures for our campus and community events. I have a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and Psychology, and a Master's in Reading. I previously taught as a PreK teacher for children with Autism and Developmental Delay. I currently teaching general education students in Kindergarten.

I had the amazing opportunity of creating student goals and working alongside Speech and Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Autism Specialists. I am now moving on to my 10th year teaching in the general education classroom in Miami-Dade County, and as a Kindergarten Teacher I have experience referring and supporting students with Autism, ADHD, and Developmental Delay in the classroom. I have worked side by side with behavioral therapists, school psychologists, administrators, and parents to provide students with early intervention and meet the goals on their Individualized Education Plans (IEPS).
