“Better than a thousand days of diligent study is one day with a great teacher.”
Hello! My name is Gabriela. I am a trained Sociocultural Anthropologist and Methodologist with a passion for education and a life-long love of learning. I earned my bachelor’s degree at the University of Miami, where I double majored in Art and Anthropology with a minor in French. In 2018, I completed my master’s degree at Florida International University in Global and Sociocultural Studies, with focuses in Education and Statistical Methods. As a private tutor, I specialize in standardized test preparation (ISEE, SSAT, SAT, ACT, GRE exams), college admissions, and academic coaching in K-12 subjects, including all levels of Spanish and French language courses. I also tutor college undergraduate students in the same subjects. My unique holistic and methodical approaches to education emphasize executive functions, time-management, and organizational skills.
Moreover, I recognize that everyone learns in different ways and/or at different rates. However, in my experience, many learning institutions adhere to a “one-size-fits-all” teaching approach and many educators fail to properly relate to their students. Therefore, I am committed to developing individualized lesson plans and study methods to help meet each individual student’s unique learning goals. Finally, I strongly believe a supportive and encouraging teacher/mentor relationship is fundamental to any student’s success.
