Born and raised in Carmel, Indiana, I am native English speaker, but most say that my Spanish dialogue is much more elegant than my English. I attribute this in part to my upbringing in a half-Spanish speaking household (I had a Spanish step-father), but more wholly to my educational experiences both in the US and abroad. I graduated from Wabash College with a degree in Spanish Literature. While in school, I spent over 9 months abroad in three different countries. I taught at a NGO in San Cristóbal de las Casas Mexico for two months, traveled Ecuador for a month with a Spanish literature and economics professor from my university, and lived in Valencia, Spain for 6 months studying Spanish Literature, Art, and aspects of the European economy.
My Spanish competency goes far beyond the spoken-language capacities of most. I am familiar with a multitude of variations in dialect, pronunciation, and word usage. I am well versed in Spanish, central, and south american literature—literary tools that are helpful in teaching Spanish at any level.
I work full-time as a Senior Security Consultant for a top-20 security firm in the United States, and own a sales consulting firm.
