I hold a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and have three years of experience supporting students from elementary through high school. As a school-based speech-language pathologist, I work with students with diverse learning needs, helping them strengthen the language and literacy skills necessary for academic success. My background allows me to tailor instruction to each student’s strengths, learning style, and goals.
I previously worked at Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, where I implemented the Visualizing and Verbalizing program to improve reading and language comprehension. I can support students in reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, phonics, spelling, written expression, and overall language skills. My experience has equipped me with strategies to help students understand what they read, organize their thoughts, make connections, and express themselves effectively.
My tutoring approach is personalized, interactive, and supportive. I believe effective tutoring goes beyond providing answers. It involves helping students understand how to approach a task, identify areas of difficulty, and develop strategies they can use independently. During sessions I encourage students to explain their thinking, ask questions, and work through challenging material with guidance. I adapt my instruction to each student’s needs, using clear explanations, structured practice, and engaging activities.
Whether a student needs additional support with reading, wants to strengthen their writing, or is working toward greater independence in the classroom, I strive to create a positive learning environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence. My goal is to make learning engaging and accessible while helping each student develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed academically.
