Hi! I’m Emily, a bilingual English and Spanish tutor with over three years of experience working with K–12 students. I graduated with honors from Miami Dade College Honors College with an Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration. I specialize in elementary math, Algebra, and SAT Math preparation, and I also tutor Spanish and elementary-level reading and English.
I have worked with students primarily through one-on-one tutoring, both online and in person, as well as in small-group settings. My experience includes K–12 math and reading, Algebra, and ACCUPLACER preparation. I have helped students successfully pass the Algebra 1 EOC and supported students who needed to catch up in reading and math to successfully complete their school year.
My teaching style is supportive, interactive, and personalized to each student. I break difficult concepts into manageable steps, use guided practice, and help students understand why a method works instead of simply memorizing steps. For SAT Math, I focus on strengthening the core math skills tested on the exam while introducing students to SAT-style questions and effective problem-solving strategies. As a native Spanish speaker who is also fluent in English, I can work with students and families in either language.
