I am a bilingual educator with a background in immigration law and civic education. I hold an Associate's degree from Miami Dade College, a Paralegal Studies certificate from the University of Miami, and am currently working toward a Bachelor's degree in Political Science, giving me a strong foundation in U.S. government, law, and civics, the exact subject matter tested on the naturalization exam.
For the past several years, I have taught U.S. citizenship classes live online, three times a week, helping adult students prepare for every part of the naturalization interview: the 100/128 civics questions, the English reading and writing portions, and mock interview practice. My students range widely in age and educational background, from young adults to seniors in their seventies and eighties, and many come to me after struggling with self-study or larger classroom settings. I tailor my approach to each student, using repetition, real-life context, and a patient, encouraging style, especially for students who need extra support due to memory, learning, or comprehension difficulties.
In addition to teaching, I work as a paralegal and run my own immigration document preparation and certified translation business, working directly with Spanish-speaking clients on their immigration paperwork. This gives me a deep, practical understanding of the citizenship process from start to finish, not just the test itself, which I bring into every lesson. My goal with every student is the same: to build their confidence so they walk into their interview prepared and calm, not just knowing the answers, but understanding them.
